Noah's Birth Story

My first child, Noah was born at 32 weeks.  He was 5lbs and 4oz.  I remember standing in the kitchen the Monday after Superbowl looking at the clock on the coffee pot, thinking " I am having contractions".  I told my husband when he got home from work and back then his mantra was "its all in your head"  he was convinced that labor pains were made up and that if you were strong mentally, it would not hurt.
So we had dinner around 5:30 or 6, they were getting stronger, so I called the dr.  They told me to drink some water & lay down.  Call back in an hour if they were worse.  So I laid down, got some water.  I guess between the nurse not thinking I was having contractions and my husband thinking it was all in my head, I waited till midnight to call back.  By this time I was crying.  She said come in right away.  So we packed up and went it.  It was February, so it was cold out side.  I had a short sleeve shirt on and turned the A/C on in the car.  By this time my husband knew something weird was going on.  I never freeze him out.
We got to the hospital and I was having contractions, I told the nurse I needed something for the pain.  She thought it was odd I was in so much pain (I guess the contractions were not that bad)  It turns out I my appendix was in the process of rupturing which was causing the contractions.  It took them awhile to figure out what was going on, because when you are pregnant all of your organs move to different locations.  At one point they thought it was a pancreatic attack, then a specialist came in and said no it was my appendix.

Noah was a good size for being two months early
With Daddy
With Mommy

He was in the NICU for 18 days.  When he came home he was on oxygen and a sleep apenia machine for a little while .

Now he is 6 and could not be better
