Noah's Birth Story

My first child, Noah was born at 32 weeks.  He was 5lbs and 4oz.  I remember standing in the kitchen the Monday after Superbowl looking at the clock on the coffee pot, thinking " I am having contractions".  I told my husband when he got home from work and back then his mantra was "its all in your head"  he was convinced that labor pains were made up and that if you were strong mentally, it would not hurt.
So we had dinner around 5:30 or 6, they were getting stronger, so I called the dr.  They told me to drink some water & lay down.  Call back in an hour if they were worse.  So I laid down, got some water.  I guess between the nurse not thinking I was having contractions and my husband thinking it was all in my head, I waited till midnight to call back.  By this time I was crying.  She said come in right away.  So we packed up and went it.  It was February, so it was cold out side.  I had a short sleeve shirt on and turned the A/C on in the car.  By this time my husband knew something weird was going on.  I never freeze him out.
We got to the hospital and I was having contractions, I told the nurse I needed something for the pain.  She thought it was odd I was in so much pain (I guess the contractions were not that bad)  It turns out I my appendix was in the process of rupturing which was causing the contractions.  It took them awhile to figure out what was going on, because when you are pregnant all of your organs move to different locations.  At one point they thought it was a pancreatic attack, then a specialist came in and said no it was my appendix.

Noah was a good size for being two months early
With Daddy
With Mommy

He was in the NICU for 18 days.  When he came home he was on oxygen and a sleep apenia machine for a little while .

Now he is 6 and could not be better

Where are my ears?

Noah had not been listening at school the past two days so I said here I have something for you.

Then I reached into my pocket and acted like I was pulling a pair of ears out.

I stuck them on his head and said "here they are!

You will need these tomorrow, they are your listening ears"

He smiled like I was an idoit and told me he'd listen tomorrow

Duke Style

It was dinner time.  I had fixed our lovely little family dinner and every one should have been sitting at the dinner table.  Noah was laying on the floor next to our Basset Hound, Duke

Me - Noah get up
Me - Noah get off the floor
Noah - Im pratcing Duke Style
Me - What?
Noah - Im practcing my Duke style, you know laying on the floor, eating out of a bowl.  Stuff like that.
Me - Great, sit down.

I am pretty sure Duke just thinks hes being a dog, and does not realize he has style

Guest Writer - Noah

Today its Noah's turn:

Once upon a time there was a little boy and there was a mouse in his house.  His dad told him he had to catch him (the mouse).  Then they tried to catch the mouse, but he could not catch him.  Out of no where a rat showed up, then a bunny, then a dog, then they had a zoo.  They started selling tickets to the zoo, but realized there were not enough animals.

The end

On a side note - our home is not infested with mice.  Just incase you were getting that vibe from my kids.  We saw signs of a mouse & called the pest guy.  He has set some traps & we are sure we will catch the little guy.  Apparently this made a big impression on the kids
